The members work as individuals, exploring their interests along the lines of a learning process. A certain structure is provided and a stimulus to respond to the environment, natural, human and man-made. The group has a tutor. Studies are made in various media and developed into paintings, collage or mixed media. Outdoors during the year members visit a variety of locations for material and some time is devoted to research into artists and exhibitions.

The group is open to people who are interested in the world of art. Although the emphasis is on artists and paintings we do look at the broader aspects of art eg architecture, sculpture and crafts. Our normal monthly meeting consists of an illustrated talk by an invited speaker. Some speakers are practising artists and give demonstrations of how they tackle a particular subject.

We organise two visits each year to art galleries or places of special interest and maintain contact with the activities of Aspects of Art I.

We meet at Greenhill Library, Hemper Lane ,Sheffield S8 7FE (No. 76 bus route) on the second Thursday of each month, at 2: 00 p.m.
We are a self help Group, focussing on the participation of our members and drawing upon each other's strengths and experiences. It is envisaged that all members will be involved, irrespective of their knowledge levels, enabling us to learn together: with each other, through each other and by personal participation. Our programme will also include visits to Art Galleries and Country Houses as well as talks by speakers, invited because of their extensive knowledge in their respective fields.

The meetings are normally held at the above location. Any changes will be clear from our programme. We have a membership with a wide range of interests and a wide range of photographic and technical ability. We encourage beginners to form small self-help sub-groups to meet in their own homes with ad hoc support and guidance from an experienced member.
We try, in our programme, to deal with both the photographic part of our title, and also the digital or technical parts, such as software and techniques. Each week we have a topic as a basis for members to take photos based on that topic and to display them at the meeting. This is to encourage members to be more observant and creative, and to use some of the techniques seen in our meetings.
One of our members holds a 'surgery' before each meeting to try and help solve members problems.

As a group we share expertise, new ideas and guidance. We are interested in most kinds of handwork and craft which we can use for small projects i.e. for gifts, self use or to help charities. We are of necessity a small group working together around someone’s table -hand sewing, making greetings cards, using embroidery, patchwork, paper folding, decoupage, stamping and tatted lace etc.

We share skills and knowledge, particularly of techniques avoiding sewing up and of d-i-y designing.  Some of us knit by hand and /or machine, and also crochet.  Perhaps future visits to e.g. museums, specialist stores etc.  We are also interested in the possibility of knitting/crochet for charity eg. Premature baby unit, chemotherapy   patients, wheelchair-bound soldiers etc.

We are very much a social group, who works with material old and new. Our highlight is always our Christmas get together at the Coodinator's home, where everyone brings a special dish - always good! We have now been together for more than ten years. During that time, thirteen healthy grandchildren have been born. Therefore many baby quilts in all versions have been produced. We feel very lucky.

A very informal group working on individual projects, discussing problems and features, exchanging ideas, constructive criticism and encouragement. The group is small because of limited working space. We mainly concentrate on carving but have made other things in wood. Our common interest is the joy and sometimes the frustration of working with a natural material.
